They were the largest baths in Rome and their 13 hectares of pools, gymnasiums, shops and gardens welcomed more than 3,000 people every day. This is also where the rich Bibliotheca Ulpia was located, open to all. Today, the large basin contains the greatest number of epigraphs and objects of everyday use dating to the Roman Empire as well as a section dedicated to amulets and Pagan, Jewish and Christian charms.
